New TV Spot And Stills For Sci-Fi Thriller The Darkest Hour

I'm tired of the giant, brown CGI monster. While we used to see awesome creature designs like the xenomorphs from Alien or even ET, too many movies these days just have a simple, generic monster design that isn't special in any way (I'm looking right at you, Super 8). Fortunately we do get the occasional reprieve from these monsters, like the monsters in Attack The Block, and next month we'll get a whole new kind of alien: ones that don't actually have a real physical form.

A new TV spot from Chris Gorak's The Darkest Hour has been released online. Check it out below.

Considering that this movie is scheduled to hit theaters on Christmas it's fairly surprising how little we've seen from it, but that apparently is changing today in a big way. In addition to the TV spot, Summit Entertainment has also sent over 14 new stills from the movie. You can check out a few of them below (click on each one to see it in high-res) and be sure to head over HERE for the full gallery.

The Darkest Hour stars Emile Hirsch and Max Minghella as two young men who visit Moscow on business. While at a night club partying the night away, all of a sudden all of the lights go out - but it's not just in the club, it's in the entire world Pairing up with two women, played by Rachael Taylor and Olivia Thirlby they go to find out what's going on and discover that aliens have invaded and they won't leave until every ounce of energy on the planet has been absorbed.
