Actress Katee Sackhoff is no stranger to sci-fi costuming. After all, from 2004 to 2009 she dressed up on a regular basis to play Captain Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace on Battlestar Galactica. But while you may have seen her in that costume before, what you haven't seen is her dressed as Nordic mercenary Dahl in the untitled Chronicles of Riddick sequel.

Vin Diesel has once again taken to his Facebook page to release new photos and stills from the set of the new sci-fi action movie, but instead of showing himself getting ready to kick some ass, today he has delivered our first look at Sackhoff in the movie. But that's not all, as the actor has also given us a peek at one of the creature effects. Check it out!

The sequel finds begins with Riddick (Diesel) trapped on an alien predator-filled planet and finding that his only way to escape is to activate an emergency beacon. This action, however, leads to a group of mercenaries, captained by a man with a vendetta against Riddick (Jordi Molla), landing on the planet and they won't leave until our hero is dead. In addition to Sackhoff the film also stars Matt Nable, Bokeem Woodbine and Karl Urban. Written and directed by David Twohy, the movie is currently in production, and while Universal doesn't have a set release date yet, it's expected that the movie will arrive in theaters sometime in 2013.
