Adam McKay Reveals Anchorman 2 Plot Details

Anchorman 2: it's happening, for real this time, after a splashy announcement from Will Ferrell on Conan and confirmation from all involved. We don't yet know what it will be about, when it will come out or who will be in it beyond the major cast, since Adam McKay and Ferrell are still writing the script, and with those two involved pretty much anything can happen. But somewhat surprisingly, McKay was willing to talk about it a little anyway in a radio interview that was partially transcribed for Salon.

The interview as a whole is really interesting, with McKay delving a little into politics and how the parody of Anchorman becomes more and more realistic as TV news gets more shallow, but the Anchorman 2 hints are pretty short. Here's the entire paragraph in question:

I don’t want to give away too much, but I’ll just give a couple pieces of ideas that we’ve kicked around. Keep in mind we’re still writing the story, but I’ll say one phrase for you: custody battle. I’ll give you that. I’ll give you one other one: bowling for dollars.

Custody battle? Does that mean Ron and Veronica have broken up and are fighting for custody of a child-- or even worse, Baxter? Is Ron's station starting its own Bowling for Dollars game show? That format was at its peak in the 70s, which means the Anchorman sequel might not be moving too far into the future-- or, as once suggested, in space. Then again, absolutely anything could change between now and then, so none of these plot details may make it into the final cut.

Anchorman 2 is closer to happening than ever, but we're still probably going to have to wait a while before we see it. Is there anything in particular you guys are hoping to see in the sequel? Or is any Ron Burgundy enough at this point?
