Looper Will Hit Blu-ray At The End Of December

Rian Johnson’s low-budget science fiction flick, Looper is traveling on to Blu-ray sooner than your might guess. Looper will be hitting Blu-ray, DVD and digital download on December 31, just before the new year. Consider the Blu-ray your post-holiday treat.

Looper stars Bruce Willis and Joseph-Gordon Levitt as two time travelers that find themselves in the right--or wrong--place at the same time. Emily Blunt also takes a main role in the gritty movie, and Raising Hope’s Garret Dillahunt even gets his five seconds of fame in the flick. If you didn’t catch Looper in theaters, it’s certainly worth a view, and maybe even purchase.

The 118 minute flick will come with a slew of bonus features, but only Blu-ray copies will get some of the more extraordinary stuff, including 22 deleted scenes with optional commentary from the director, Johnson. The time traveling aspect of Looper meant that oftentimes the story could have branched in a completely alternate direction than what the final product rolled with and no one would have batted an eyelash. I’m not remotely surprised that there were 22 scenes worth of extra footage shot, and I wonder if any of these scenes would have affected the ending of the flick.

Without getting into spoilers the multitude of deleted scenes looks excellent, and the set will also feature commentary and several featurettes. We’ve broken down the extras on the Blu-ray and DVD copies, below.
