Beautiful Creatures Will Hit Blu-ray And DVD In May

Steeped in magic and southern lore, Beautiful Creatures is a unique film following a teen love story intermixed with the supernatural. Based on the book by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia, Richard LaGravanese’s film is gorgeously shot and its script is witty, if you are willing to go on a ridiculous ride (I even preferred it to the book). If you missed out on the movie, you’ll be able to catch Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s picture when its Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download on May 21.

”Beautiful

I’ll tout the fun aspects of the film all day, but despite my fervent thumbs up, Beautiful Creatures barely made a mark at the U.S. box office, only bringing in a little over $19 million domestically on a $60 million budget. A sequel may be out of the question at this point, but if you get the chance to check out the sort-of newcomers Alice Englert and Alden Ehrenreich , I doubt you’ll hate the popcorn flick. Beautiful Creatures also stars Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, and Emmy Rossum.

The movie will be fairly affordable, whether you opt to roll with a Blu-ray or DVD copy, with the former running for $35.99 and the latter costing $28.98. However, the Blu-ray is where all the bonus features are at. While both copies will offer a few bonus features, Blu-ray copies will come with extensive featurettes looking into the making of the film and the creation of a world in South Carolina that is similar to reality with a few supernatural add-ins.
