Owen Wilson Joins Jim Carrey In Heist Comedy Formerly Known As Loomis Fargo

Over the course of Owen Wilson's career, he's had a chance to star alongside some truly gifted comedic performers, including Ben Stiller, Bill Murray, Will Ferrell, and Vince Vaughn, but now for the first time he's getting set to work with one of the great rubber-faced comedians of the modern era.

Deadline has discovered that Wilson has signed on to co-star with Jim Carrey in the upcoming Jared Hess-directed heist comedy formerly known as Loomis Fargo. Originally scripted by Emily Spivey(Up All Night) and rewritten by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer, the film tells the story of an armored truck driver who, "is persuaded to risk it all for love, money, and extravagance." He is convinced to help participate in a $20 million bank robbery, but his partners are quick to turn on him once the job is done and leave him alone in Mexico while they go on to live the high life. From there the protagonist thinks of nothing but evening the score. At this time it's unclear what roles either Wilson or Carey will play in the movie. The project has an impressive list of backers that includes Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels as well as Danny McBride, Jody Hill, Michael Aguilar and Kevin Messick.

Wilson can currently be seen in theaters alongside Vince Vaughn in The Internship and has an interesting upcoming slate. In November he will lend his voice to a time-traveling turkey in the animated Free Birds, and while it doesn't have a release date yet he will soon be seen road tripping with Zach Galifianakis in the Matthew Weiner comedy You Are Here. He will be kicking off 2014 by reuniting with Wes Anderson in The Grand Budapest Hotel, and is currently in production on Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice.
