Exclusive Spring Breakers Blu-ray Bonus Clip Highlights Dreams And Bikinis

Spring Breakers, Harmony Korine’s most accessible film yet, stars Vanessa Hudgens, Rachel Korine, Ashley Benson, and the super cute Selena Gomez as four college-aged individuals stuck on campus at the beginning of spring break. All they need is a little cash to get out of town, and when they illicitly come across the money, they go on an unforgettable adventure involving bikinis, guns, and a rapper named Alien. Spring Breakers hits Blu-ray and DVD today, and to celebrate Lionsgate Home Entertainment has graciously put together an exclusive Blu-ray bonus clip for fans that takes a look at a few of the outtakes present on the disc.

While there are plenty of shots of random assholes partying in Florida in Spring Breakers, the film mostly focuses on the aforementioned young women and the decisions they make that could forever leave an imprint on their lives. The above clip shows the dichotomy present in the four women. They are still girls who are foolish enough to do handstands on dorm walls, but they are also girls willing to explore the potential of a darker, seedier side of existence. As Benson notes early in the clip, “We don’t get this back home, we never get a chance like this.” For the girls, spring break is wholly about escaping. Well that, and having fun.

If you’d like to escape into your own copy of the film, you’ll be able to own it today on Blu-ray or DVD. Both copies come with Ultra Violet, and both copies will come with a slew of bonus features, including the above outtakes clip. Other extras include a behind-the-scenes 3-part documentary, audio commentary with the director, a look at the music present in the film, and more. Whichever way you choose to go, you won’t have to shell out too much money, as both Blu-ray and DVD copies are on sale for well under $20 dollars at Amazon. I’d pay 20 bucks just to see Franco with a grill, again.

All in all, Spring Breakers is an oddball, stylistic film that does a lot to deserve its R-rating. If you want to learn more, you can check out the red-band trailer, the complete list of extras with the set, and some videos from the rapper who inspired Franco’s character in the film.
