Ron Burgundy Gets In The Worst Car Crash Ever In New Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues Trailer

This past summer was a big season for comedy, with movies like The Hangover Part III, We're The Millers, This Is The End, The Heat and more opening to big numbers, but the year isn't through just yet. On December 20th, Ron Burgundy and the Channel 4 News Team will be back in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, the long awaited sequel to the 2004 cult classic. We've already seem a good number of teasers for the film and the first theatrical trailer hit the internet back in June, but today we have a brand new one that is not only packed with tons of new footage, but one that is absolutely hysterical.

Directed by Adam McKay, the new film finds Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and Champ Kind (David Koechner) trying to find their place in a world that is just discovering the idea of a 24-hour news station. Christina Applegate is set to return as Veronica Corningstone, while the movie's outstanding supporting cast is filled with names like Harrison Ford, Dylan Baker, James Marsden, and Greg Kinnear (plus there are guaranteed to be many, many surprise cameos).

Not only do I love this trailer for making me laugh hysterically, I love the idea that this may not even be the movie's best stuff. As a director McKay is known for taking multiple takes of every scene and deciding which one works best in the the editing room. As funny as the scenes in this preview may be, it could all be B-level material compared to what the final cut has in store. Let's not forget that McKay had so much extra footage from the first Anchorman that he was able to create a completely separate film.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be in theaters on December 20th and you can watch all of the previously released trailers after the jump...
