Samuel L. Jackson Says Frozone Will Be Back For The Incredibles 2

Thanks to his important role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Samuel L. Jackson has spent plenty of time hanging around superheroes in the last few years - but what we've been really waiting for is the return of his own great superhero character. Back in 2004, Jackson lent his recognizable voice to Lucius Best a.k.a. Frozone in Pixar's The Incredibles, and while he was only used in a small supporting role, he still provided some of the movie's best moments. So when the Incredibles sequel was announced earlier this month we all hoped that it would mean the return of the ice-blasting costumed hero, and now Jackson has confirmed that our wishes will come true.

Jackson is currently making the global press rounds promoting Captain America: The Winter Soldier - in which he is playing S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury for the fourth time - and while speaking with Digital Spy he revealed that director Brad Bird has a promised place for him in The Incredibles 2. "Every time I run into Brad he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on, so I have to believe that," he said. "I guess they could be the Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful, wonderful addition to what's already there." He added, ""I'm just looking forward to seeing what Jack-Jack turned into."

For those that don't remember, Frozone was the best friend of Bob Parr (a.k.a. Mr. Incredible). They were both forced to give up their vigilante activities when lawsuits and damages got in the way, but they still teamed up to stop crimes in secret. Lucius put his supersuit back on to fight Syndrome (Jason Lee) and his evil robots in the last film, though we don't know if the laws about superheroes have been changed. Frozone has many terrific lines and scenes, but there is one in particular that sticks out as most memorable:

We know that The Incredibles 2 is happening, but any real details beyond that are kind of a mystery. Pixar has Finding Dory, their Finding Nemo sequel, set up for 2016, so perhaps the next Incredibles adventure could be 2017? We can only hope...
