The Latest, Full Terminator Genisys Trailer Finally Reveals Who The Bad Guy Is

"I’m not machine. I’m not man. I’m… more." With these chilling words, the latest full trailer for Alan Taylor’s Terminator Genisys finally tipped its hand to the actual villain of the upcoming summer blockbuster sequel, and it’s… well, watch the clip, and then we’ll discuss.

Yep, Paramount now seems OK with letting fans know that John Connor (played by Jason Clarke in this version of the Terminator timeline) will be the one causing all sorts of problems for his mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), his best friend, Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) and, of course, the T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who promised he’d be back. Up until this point, the footage shown to Terminator fans suggested a literal retelling of the traditional story, with John sending Kyle back in time to protect his mother. There were hints at changes to the story we knew… but none dropped with quite an impact as this new reveal.

The trailer arrived at the end of a social media push using the hashtag #TerminatorUnlock, where cast members like Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed cool pics from the new trailer, like the T-800 in distress:

And a spoilery tease of what we now know is John Connor’s hand in mid-transformation:

You might think this trailer gives away too much, that we now know who the main threat is in Terminator Genisys that the studio showed all of its cards. Not the case. There’s at least one more massive reveal I’m pretty sure awaits fans in Genisys. And if this movie is destined to trigger two more chapters in a new Terminator trilogy, then I expect several more layers to peel back between now and July.

Terminator Genisys attempts to rewrite the timeline by sending Kyle Reese back to a new era. It promises a battle between old Arnold and a CGI "old" Arnold. That alone should get you into a theater on July 1.
