Furious 7 Deleted Scene Answers A Major Question, Watch It Now

James Wan’s Furious 7 was a big, fat stinking hit for Universal Studios… a studio that has had several big, fat stinking hits this year. Part of the reason that the Fast & Furious fans keep coming back sequel after sequel is because they are invested in the "family" created by Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O’Conner (the late Paul Walker), and they genuinely want to see what happens to them as their stories evolve. You guys are going to want to see this:

The Wall Street Journal has this exclusive deleted scene from James Wan’s blockbuster, and while it’s short on the automotive thrills that have become the signature of the series, it does fill in a very important gap on the Furious 7 storyline. As fans will know, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) started her Furious 7 adventure still suffering from an amnesia that was brought up in Fast & Furious 6. This explained why she was in London, working for an evil criminal like Shaw. Dom wasn’t giving up on Letty, though, and near the end of Act One in Furious 7, Letty took off for a while to go and "find" her memories. This clip explains where she went.

We see Letty returning to a Mexican medical facility where she swears she was kept, though they have no record of her identity. As the clip unfolds, though, Letty begins to remember a time when another familiar face, Gisele (Gal Gadot), dragged Letty into the hospital seeking medical attention. We learn that Gisele was the one that saved a badly injured Letty. This likely happened after the events in the fourth Fast & Furious, when Letty was believed to be dead:

That movie was Gal Gadot’s introduction to the Fast & Furious universe, though she became a much bigger player in Fast Five and on through Fast & Furious 6. Gadot has since moved on to much bigger franchises. She’ll next play Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

As for Letty, she returned to the fray of Furious 7 and was able to rekindle her relationship with Dom after telling in – in the closing moments of the film – that her memory had returned and all was right with the world. Until Fast 8, I’m sure, when the next soap-opera plot twist can be applied to this long-suffering character!
