We all know that making movies is a pretty rough racket, but you have to admit that when the folks in the Marvel Cinematic Universe do it, it looks pretty damned fun. Some of that fun is on display in the Phase 2 gag reel, which you can get a sneak peek at below.
Obviously, this isn't the entire reel, as Marvel shared just a taste of the crazy antics that are included on the Phase 2 bonus disc. With the footage that's included from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians Of The Galaxy, and Ant-Man, we can't help but want to see what else is on display from the rest of Phase 2's offerings.
The humorous nature of a Marvel set has been a given since day one. Even Joss Whedon has gone on record, stating that his tenure as the director of both Avengers movies was at times akin to playing teacher to a room of rowdy students. Though it certainly looks like other directors got their lion's share of mischief, especially Peyton Reed – considering the really sweet outtake that shows off Paul Rudd losing his handcuffs and looking to escape, in full character. With all of the shenanigans on display, it's all the more amazing that Marvel Studios has produced films as dramatic as some of their recent offerings have been.
Humor has always been an antidote for life's more serious dilemmas, and considering how dark the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get, we can only imagine how much fun the Captain America: Civil War set can be. With the ultimate conflict in the making, destined to pitting Avenger against Avenger, you can imagine how fast and furious the jokes are flying once the cameras are off. Though all of this talk about blooper reels does have us wondering if the quality of the bloopers is somehow linked to the quality of the film. Just a little something to keep in mind in the coming years of Marvel madness.
