The 4 Most Popular DC Tattoos People Got At The SXSW Suicide Squad Tattoo Parlor

David Ayer’s Suicide Squad won’t be arriving in theaters for another five months or so, but people are already showcasing some serious commitment to the upcoming blockbuster. At the SXSW Film Festival this week, excited fans lined up around the block to get actual, legitimate tattoos representing their favorite characters in the upcoming movie – with the big favorites of the week being Harley Quinn, Joker, Enchantress and Killer Croc.

Yesterday, I stopped by the Harley Quinn Tattoo Parlor (a transformed version of Affinity Tattoo and Piercing on 6th Street in Austin, Texas), and Marcy Davis – who was posted up in front of the establishment in a "Daddy’s Little Monster" T-shirt – gave me the lowdown on the Suicide Squad character’s already proving to be very popular with the fans:

Of course Harley Quinn is huge, and Joker. Other than Harley Quinn and Joker, I think Enchantress and Killer Croc have been killing it!

You might be asking yourself right now, "Wait, these are temporary tattoos, right?" Well, while fans were given that option, more than a few actually got ink that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. The promotion offered fans specially designed Suicide Squad tattoos for free, and plenty of people in the Texas capitol were more than happy to take advantage of the deal.

We do 18 a day, for the permanent tattoos. All throughout the day we’ve been doing temporary tattoos as well – so you can get the exact same thing temporarily on you.

You can check out a full gallery of the tattoo designs at the bottom of the article.

Nearly 20 people getting special Suicide Squad ink per day is an impressive number, and fans were definitely using the Harley Quinn Tattoo Parlor as a chance to demonstrate their real passion. Davis told me that people were lining up hours in advance of the establishment’s opening just to make sure that they got in through the door and into a chair. One fan in particular actually started lining up four hours before the place opened on the first day just to make sure he would be the first person to go.

If you had the chance to get a Suicide Squad tattoo in Austin, would you have done it? Which character symbol would you have gotten? Hit the comments with your thoughts, and look for the upcoming DC Comics blockbuster in theaters on August 5th.
