Chris Pratt Boards His Spaceship For The First Time In New Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 Set Video

Pinewood Studios outside of Atlanta is pretty amazing. If you don’t believe it, just ask Chris Pratt. He’s put a new video together showing off the real behind the scenes experience of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as part of his promotion of Omaze, which is giving away a behind the scenes trip with Pratt as part of their charity contest. There’s much more to see than simply craft services, however, as we also get our first look at the (half built) Milano spacecraft. Check it out below.

According to Chris Pratt, the video was recorded just after production began, which would have been awhile ago now as the movie has been filming for the last few weeks. As such, he gets to board the Milano while it’s still under construction by the set designers. While it looks pretty familiar, we’re not sure it’s particularly space worthy in this condition. Seeing all the tools and ladders lying around makes the space feel significantly less like a spacecraft and more like a Hollywood set. Our illusions are being crushed. The highlight of all of it, however, has to be the random game of Simon lying on the floor.

We’re guessing that the pattern matching game belongs to Peter Quill. As his pop culture reference library never passed the 1980’s, we know that he still has an affinity for items from his childhood. We’re still curious where he got it, however. He wasn’t carrying it when he was abducted in the first movie. At the same time, it seems like an odd point in the construction process for there to be a random prop sitting on the floor. Do the set builders just take breaks and play games of Simon with each other? Because that... that would be weird. (And weirdly awesome.)

The promotion of the set is part of Chris Pratt’s work with Omaze, the charity organization who is giving away a trip to visit the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The organization has run similar contests with several other major film releases over the last few years, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Captain America: Civil War, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

What do you think of the first look at the Milano? Are you excited to see it flying again in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2? Are you any good at Simon?
