Captain America And Iron Man Have Reconciled, For The Sake Of An Ailing Fan

At the end of Captain America: Civil War, Earth's mightiest warriors are split into two separate factions, with tensions high and ideologies running hot. There is no force that could reunite them and heal their wounds as quickly as rushing to the aid of someone who needs them, and 18 year old Cancer patient Ryan Wilcox could certainly have used some heroics in his life. Lucky for him, he got his wish, and is now known as the man who brought the most contentious Avengers back together, all in the name of healing.

The preceding picture comes from an Instagram user who's been posting on Ryan's behalf. With his condition not being as well as his family and friends would wish, the call went out for Ryan's favorite comic based fighting team, The Avengers, to assemble on his behalf. As luck would have it, Gwyneth Paltrow saw the message, and sure enough she personally called out Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans in an effort to get the two actors into the San Diego area for a meet up. The rest is heartwarming history.

So not only is Ryan Wilcox the man who brought Captain America and Iron Man back to speaking terms, he's technically also the person who brought Tony Stark and Pepper Potts back together for the first time since Iron Man 3. Apparently, Ryan's super power is that he's able to bridge conflicts between people who really shouldn't be fighting, and doing so for the noblest of causes. Not only did Ryan get an awesome group shot like the one at the top of this story, he also got a great one-on-one-on-one with Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans themselves. You can see that photo below, courtesy of Gwyneth Paltrow's personal Instagram feed.

Seeing actors like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Gwyneth Paltrow all coming together to visit a fan, even if his allegiances are clearly in the corner of the Star Spangled Man, is a beautiful thing. Though they aren't the only Marvel folks that are brightening the lives of the ill, as Ryan Reynolds was also spotted earlier this year, comforting a terminally ill fan with his own private screening of Deadpool, and a friendly repartee that involved numerous text messages back and forth between both parties. Indeed, it's moments like these that make you believe that heroes exist in the real world, ready to make the world a better place on short notice. Ryan Wilcox, for your courageous efforts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Civil War, as well as just being an all around good guy, we salute you and wish you all of the best in your fight against Cancer.

Captain America: Civil War is in theaters now.
