The Double Pits Jesse Eisenberg Against Himself In This Crazy New Trailer
To me, this trailer couldn’t be more engrossing, combining the eccentric universe of a Terry Gilliam comedy with the dexterous narrative of a David Mamet play. The fact that no one can tell the two men look alike is a wonderful touch, and my fingers are crossed that the plot takes some wicked turns once James’ antagonist side breaks loose. And I really hope the feature itself utilizes the same kind of music heard in the trailer, which sounds independently majestic, if that makes any sense.
Toronto Video Blog: How I Fell In Love With Can A Song Save Your Life
Every once in a while, at a major film festival like Toronto – where hundreds of titles are shown over the duration of the fest – you take a chance on a movie that you think is going to be in your wheelhouse … and it knocks you on your ass. Jesse Eisenberg Meets Jesse Eisenberg In This Creepy Trailer For Richard Ayoade's The Double
By replacing any in-film sounds and dialogue with blues legend Sun House’s “Grinnin’ in Your Face,” this trailer comes off as even more offsetting and interesting. I get the feeling that Eisenberg is walking with some nefarious purpose in mind (or minds).

Mia Wasikowska Joins Jesse Eisenberg For Richard Ayoade's The Double
THR describes the film as "funny, frightening and dream-like," so while it might not be as sober and grim as you might expect from Dostoevsky, Ayoade also says it will "reflect on loneliness and our need to love and be loved." It's hard to imagine Ayoade making anything resembling a typical drama

The Double Trailer Leaves No Plot Twist To The Imagination
I have no idea why people who cut trailers never seem to learn that this is only a way to make people feel like they don't need to see your movie at all, but whoever's responsible for the trailer for the new thriller The Double definitely hasn't learned this lesson
Jesse Eisenberg To See Double With Submarine Director Richard Ayoade
If news linking Eisenberg and the author of Crime & Punishment doesn't appeal to you, how about this: the adaptation of Dostoyevsky's The Double that Eisenberg has signed on to is directed by Richard Ayoade, the actor and writer known from British TV shows The Mighty Boosh and The IT Crowd
