Here's What Happened When Drunk Asian Superman Tried To Fly

Night owls in Suquian, China caught a glimpse of a man flying out of a fifth floor window earlier this week. Sadly, the wannabe superhero’s moment of glory abruptly ended after his cruising altitude quickly dropped and he crashed into a roof almost immediately.

A 25-year-old was a Chinese man named Tang Lei, and he, of course, decided to spend a recent evening drinking. After a few too many, he got the bright idea to break into a nearby empty fifth floor apartment in order to sleep it off. Unfortunately, the apartment was not vacant and he was never able to go to sleep because he was discovered by a 10-year-old girl. According to The New York Daily News, he tried to keep the girl calm by telling her he was actually Superman.

She wasn’t buying it. In fact, she told the man to prove he could fly or she would scream. So, he stripped down to his underwear in an attempt to look like a superhero, then climbed out the window and jumped. He thought he could easily make it to a nearby roof, but in his drunken condition, he didn’t realize just how far the actual drop was.

”I know it doesn't make sense but it did to me when I was drunk.”

Fortunately for Tang Lei, he suffered only cuts and bruises. His pained screams were quickly overheard by neighbors, and they rushed him to the hospital. While there, he was promptly arrested for breaking into the house. No word yet on whether he’ll be charged for stealing Superman’s identity too.
