Osama Bin Laden's Porn Collection Won't Be Made Public, Unfortunately

When Osama Bin Laden was killed back in 2011, a number of documents were taken from the compound in Pakistan where he was found. Now, a number of these documents have been declassified, but there are some particular pieces of the al-Qaeda leader's collection that are not being released to the public, primarily, his porn collection.

U.S. intelligence officials have released more than 100 letters and documents that were found during the raid, but they are holding the terrorist’s pornographic collection. At the time of the raid, Navy Seals reportedly uncovered a pretty extensive collection of pornography. The office of James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence confirmed that indeed, “some pornographic material” was found, but told The Guardian that the US would not release the pornography “due to the nature of their contents”. No further details were given on the matter.

Evidence of the pornographic material was first reported back in 2011 just weeks after the raid which left Osama Bin Laden dead on site. First published by Reuters, officials claimed there was an extensive collection which was very modern. They were unclear how the porn reached the hideout though, considering it had no Internet connection. The officials were not sure exactly where where the material was found in the compound though, so it’s unknown who had been viewing it, but it was said that there had been 22 people living there. So while many have used this discovery for means of mockery, there is no proof that the al-Qaeda leader had even viewed the porn.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) the world will probably never know what type of porn Osama Bin Laden may have been watching. We can hold onto the fact that it was modern, but aside from that, the U.S. government clearly does not want anyone setting eyes on this material.
