See Marvel's New Avengers Team Lineup

When I say “The Avengers, and not the British series,” what do you think of? Is there a specific set of characters and alter egos that you always picture when the Marvel superhero team is mentioned? Well, Marvel is ready to destroy your status quo, and they’ve unveiled a brand new Avengers line-up for a new comic series. Check them out.

”avengers”

Following the game-changing Secret Wars storyline, the world was in need of a new breed of superpowered world-savers to step up. Enter the All-New, All-Different Marvel Universe’s Avengers #1, written by Mark Waid and illustrated by Mahmud Asrar and Adam Kubert, which features quite a few familiar costumes, but a mix of modern faces beneath them. Marvel is all about that diversity these days.

For instance, the swanky Captain America is no longer Steve Rogers, but the former Falcon Sam Wilson. To his left is Thor, though not the big and burly dude you’ve known your whole life, but Jane Foster. Donning the Spider-Man costume for this gang is Miles Morales, rather than Peter Parker. Then we’ve got Iron Man, Vision, Ms. Marvel and Nova there to fill in the rest of this iconic squad.

That was indeed a glorious cover image, but the shot below will show fans what kind of visual style we should actually anticipate from this new comic series.

Vision wins the award for Most Vibrantly Colored Outfit, but that’s no surprise.

Marvel has been unleashing some pretty groundbreaking changes within their current universe. Not only are Captain America and Thor going to be a romantic item at some point in the future, but Wolverine is going to be a woman now. It’s almost to the point where I’m waiting for Spider-Man to actually have been brought into existence by a millipede, and for Cyclops to get Lasik eye surgery and not wear his visor anymore.

You can find All-New, All-Different Avengers # 1 on sale at Marvel and other outlets this November. Do you guys like the look of the new team, or are you more of a purist for the groups of yesteryear?
