Cardi B is taking a break. After a great deal of speculation, the chart-topping rapper revealed during her recent Saturday Night Live appearance that she is, indeed, pregnant with her first child. While she released her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, earlier this month, she's keeping herself away from the touring life in order to focus on her growing child. Here's what the "Bodak Yellow" musician said.

Cardi B announced her touring break on her Instagram account. In the video, Cardi explained that, while she is keeping herself moving and making it look easy in the process, in reality, she is a bit exhausted. While she'd like to spend more time with her fans, especially as her career continues to grow, Ms. B is taking this time to focus on the little one that's inside her stomach. But she promises she'll return with Bruno Mars during his upcoming tour, so it won't be too long before we see Cardi B rocking on the stage again. In the meantime, however, Cardi B's fans will simply have to wait respectively.
This development is only the latest in Cardi B's ongoing pregnancy. As it was reported earlier this year, the rumors starting spreading about Cardi B around Super Bowl weekend. While she was spending time with other celebrities and around all the booze she'd ever want, the musician opted for a water bottle instead. Cardi B is known to party, so it was considered a surprise that she wouldn't participate in any celebrations. When asked about this, Cardi B's publicists reportedly starting telling people that their client was going to have her first child.
Of course, the word spread like wildfire. Cardi B dismissed it initially, claiming she was "just fat." During her recent appearance on NBC's hit variety series SNL, she decided to keep the baby news a secret no more. Now that it's confirmed, Cardi is enjoying the moment, but she is also respecting the upcoming trials of motherhood. While Cardi B is bigger than ever right now, professionally, she'll need to step back to give her soon-arriving child some much-needed time to grow.
