Years ago, voters for the Grammy Awards used to almost always default to the more established act. Consequently, the ceremony acquired a reputation of only honoring artists well after their primes, but in recent years, the pendulum has switched the other way. Now voters are far more open to choosing up and comers, which is why emerging acts such as Frank Ocean, Fun. And Carly Rae Jepsen might actually have a shot at walking away with some hardware this year.

Today’s ceremony has already been underway for hours thanks to the incredible number of musical genres the powers that be recognize, but fortunately for viewers, the more popular categories are starting to get handed out.
