Will Adele's Pregnancy Lead Her To Write Happier Songs?

Following Adele’s triumph at the Grammy Awards this past February, the songstress opened up about people’s perceptions of her and her desire to change them. Rather than being a ”bitter witch”, she wanted to move forward and write a happy record, a group of songs people could connect with on a more joyful level. Given all the success writing about her break-up afforded her, some observers were very skeptical. They thought she’d continue down the same path and churn out another angry record.

Earlier today, Adele announced she’s pregnant with boyfriend Simon Konecki’s baby. She’s reportedly euphoric about the news and can’t wait to be a mother. Beyond that, the singer hasn’t offered fans many details, but regardless, the little bundle of the joy should be here near the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

While motherhood will give Adele reasons to smile, raising a child is also an incredibly stressful ordeal. How that balance of emotions will translate to her writing is unclear, as is how her fans might take any alteration in her tone. Some will surely be excited about the singer tackling more pleasant subject matter and embracing her new life as a girlfriend and wife, but just as many will probably be disappointed if she loses her angst.

I can’t wait to see what she chooses to do. What do you think? Will pregnancy lead to happier songs, or will Adele write another break-up album? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
