Author Has Book Stolen By Own Sister

Sweet mother of God. The whole plotline with Hank Moody having his book stolen by his ex-girlfriend’s step daughter on Californication might not be as ridiculous as I originally thought. New York City novelist and wife of Hoover vacuum heir Tatiana Boncompagni is accusing her sister Natasha of hacking into her computer and stealing excerpts of her new novel Hedge Fund Wives. Oh the horror. That’s exactly what the world needed too. Another Candace Bushnell rip-off about isolated and fabulously wealthy debutantes.

According to The Associated Press, Natasha is denying the allegations, saying it’s a family matter and should be resolved behind clothes doors. Sounds the cries of a guilty conscience to me. Adding another bizarre dimension to this story, Tatiana has admitted Natasha helped her flesh out many of the novel’s plotlines, which might make her a co-author, in which case she wouldn’t have actually stolen anything except half her own work.

You know who really loses out because of this surreptitious chicanery? Art. Clearly, this novel would have been the next Confederacy Of Dunces.
