Javier Bardem has proposed to his superstar girlfriend Penelope Cruz in secret, according to U.S. reports.

The actors, who began dating in 2007, recently denied rumors Cruz is expecting their first child after they were seen leaving an OB/GYN clinic in Madrid last month (Sep09).

The latest gossip involving the couple suggests the pair got engaged during a recent break, and has announced its plans to wed to close friends and family. A source tells the New York Daily News, "They're telling friends they will get married."

The rumors come just months after Cruz vowed she would never wed. The star, who previously dated Tom Cruise, told reporters, "I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children." (JMA/NYDN/IG)
