Big Boi Would Be Down For An Outkast Reunion

Big Boi loves to make music. The 37-year-old musician has a new solo endeavor, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, out today, and despite the love for his solo work, the music artist says he would love to re-hook up with Andre 3000 and produce another Outkast album.

Outkast recently spoke to HypeTrak to talk about how he creates a kind of music he calls “electrofunk” that he makes on his own and with Outkast. While fans will hear both Phantogram and Little Dragon on Big Boi’s new album, interestingly, there’s no collaborative effort with Andre 3000 on any track, which is frequently how the two men have worked on each other’s solo efforts in the past. This has spawned questions over whether or not the two are getting along, but Big Boi says things are just fine between the former partners.

Addressing fans who really want an Outkast reunion, Big Boi says he’s waiting on his partner.

“You gotta talk to Dre, you know what I’m saying. It’s on him. I haven’t stopped making music. Whenever he’s ready to do it, I’m game. I mean if I ain’t on tour. Ya’ll gotta talk to my partner. ”

The man seems down to produce more work with Outkast, but ultimately, that will depend on whether or not Andre 3000 can find the time to put a reunion together. As we’ve seen with Fleetwood Mac and many other bands, if there is demand, there’s often no good reason not to supply that demand, and with Big Boi and Andre 3000 still on good terms, hopefully fans will get the Outkast reunion they would really love in the future.
