Have you been watching Biggest Loser: Families? Me neither. I’ve been done with that show for a few years now, but Federal Bureau Of Investigation isn’t through with at least one of the contestants. Before becoming famous on the small screen for getting less obese, David Fioravanti took out a few insurance policies on some jewelry. Unfortunately, the jewelry was already stolen and he’d already collected from a different provider. Oh what a tangled web we weave.

According to The Boston Globe, Fioravanti was indicted yesterday on two felony counts of insurance fraud, as well as a slew of other charges stemming from registering his vehicle in a different county to save a little money. The alleged incidents took place between 2002 and 2004 prior to his appearing on The Biggest Loser.

How did this seem like a good idea? Paying someone to steal your car to collect insurance money is one thing, but attempting to defraud several huge corporations at the same time is just asinine. If there’s one thing I respect less than a thief, it’s a bad thief.

Here’s to hoping this crook ends up in jail.
