Blink-182 Cancels May Dates Thanks To Travis Barker's Surgery

It might not be as bad the shocking plane crash he somehow survived, but a new medical emergency has sidelined Travis Barker and by extension, his band Blink-182. The guys were due to hit Oklahoma this weekend for two dates before heading to the East Coast and Canada over the next two weeks, but now all of those dates have been cancelled thanks to tonsil problems.
Barker underwent an emergency tonsillectomy earlier this week. By all accounts, the procedure went well, but the normal recovery time lasts a few weeks. That need for rest and recuperation overlaps with all of Blink’s May tour dates; so, there was really no choice but to cancel.
The guys took to their official website to apologize to fans and let them know refunds can be attained at the point of purchase. This weekend’s Oklahoma gigs will be made up on September 13th and 14th, but beyond those, there’s no plans to reschedule any of the cancelled dates. No doubt that’s a great shame to the East Coast fans who wanted to see the 90s/ 00s pop punk band again, but provided the band members continue to get along, there’s no reason to think they won’t remain popular enough for many tours in the future.
Pop Blend’s well-wishes go out to Barker as he recovers, though given all he’s been through, it hardly seems like he needs anyone’s sympathy.
