Britney Spears Dons Period Garb For New Fantasy Twist Ad

Britney Spears has taken on some big promotional duties over the past several months. Not only has she become one of the faces of Fox’s The X Factor, she’s also taken on a gig as an endorser of Elizabeth Arden’s Fantasy Twist perfume, going so far as to be a mainstay in the fragrance’s advertising campaign. The new fragrance is a mix of several other Elizabeth Arden fragrances created with Spears, and with such a playful concept in mind, the “Hold It Against Me” singer spent part of last week mixing it up in various costumes to shoot an ad for the perfume.

During the first day of the shoot, Spears took on a look reminiscent of an ancient Egyptian Princess, playfully noting on Twitter she looked a bit like Cleopatra. While I think she looks more like a member of The Bangles, the effort is clearly there, nonetheless.



During Day 2 of shooting, Spears went for a whole different look, channeling her inner New Woman. Her partner, Jason Trawick, may have hit the nail on the head when he told Spears she looked “like Jean Harlow.”



I’m not exactly sure what the Fantasy Twist combination of Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy is going for with its advertising campaign, but it is clear Spears is looking more animated and excited than the public has seen her in a while. We’ll have to wait and see if this translates into sales when Fantasy Twist hits the market on September 1.
