Billy Corgan is the last Pumpkin standing - his Smashing Pumpkins bandmate Jimmy Chamberlin has quit the group.

Corgan and Chamberlin regrouped after the band split in 2000, but pals James Iha and D'arcy Wretzky weren't part of the new line-up. And now Chamberlin has left the band.

The drummer joined the band Corgan founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1988 and played on all the group's albums except 1988's Adore.

A statement from the group's management reads, "Corgan will continue to write and record as Smashing Pumpkins with plans to head into the studio this spring." (KL/WN/KL)
