Christopher McDonald, Better Known As Shooter McGavin, Busted For DUI

As Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore, Christopher McDonald ate pieces of shit for breakfast. As himself at a bar last night/ early this morning, the actor apparently drank way too many beers for dinner. A few hours later, he paid for that decision too in the form of a DUI arrest.

According to WECT, McDonald was driving at around 4:30 this morning when he was pulled over by a law enforcement officer in Wilmington, North Carolina. After a brief exchange, the cop asked McDonald to take a breathalyzer test, and the Dirty Work star allegedly failed miserably by registering a .15. That’s, of course, almost twice the legal limit in the state and more than enough reason to get arrested and hauled off to jail.

As of early this morning, McDonald was reportedly still incarcerated on a $1,000 bond, but given he’s worked on the regular for decades (168 IMDB credits), one would imagine he’d more than be able to get the money together. Besides, even if for some reason he couldn’t, the producers of The Squeeze are no doubt invested in him getting back on set. Not a whole lot is known about Terry Jastrow’s newest film, but since that’s the whole reason McDonald is in Wilmington, clearly his presence is needed.

There’s a huge difference between a man making one incredibly stupid mistake and a man living the type of reckless lifestyle that would lead him to continually make mistakes over and over again. Considering McDonald is married, has four children and has pretty much kept his nose clean for his entire time in the public eye, it’s probably worth giving the actor the benefit of the doubt on this one.

We’ll keep you updated on this case as it winds its way through the court system. There’s every reason to believe it’ll end quickly with a plea bargain and maybe a little bit of this...
