Comedian Gallagher Hospitalized Following Heart Attack

Well-known comedian Gallagher is in a Dallas area hospital today after suffering a minor heart attack. He was in town to perform at Hat Tricks when he began feeling a bit disoriented and tired prior to the show. The staff immediately called paramedics, and when the emergency rescuers arrived, they decided to take Gallagher to be checked out by doctors. While at the hospital, medical personnel discovered he’d had a minor heart attack, and it was decided he’d stay a few nights for observation.

According to The Wrap, tonight’s performance at the Dosey Doe in Woodlands, Texas has been cancelled and all future dates will be reexamined once a long-term prognosis can be made. Heart attacks aren’t typically something you want to rush to work immediately after, and considering Gallagher suffered another one about a year ago, it’s especially important he be cautious.

During the 1980s, Gallagher was easily one of the most popular comedians in the world. He produced numerous highly rated specials for Showtime and toured the country playing to sell out crowds. In the past decade or so, he hasn’t really been at the forefront of popular culture, but his shows are still well-attended.

Pop Blend wishes Gallagher nothing but the best as he recovers from this most recent heart attack. With any luck, he’ll be back on the road smashing watermelons and telling jokes in no time.
