Actor-turned-environmentalist Ted Danson is putting pen to paper for a new book about the world's oceans. The Cheers star is an expert on the subject - he helped create the American Oceans Campaign in the 1980s to protect and restore the world's oceans.

And at 62, he is set to publish his first tome with Rodale Books, that takes a "celebratory and cautionary look at the world's oceans".

The as-yet-untitled book is scheduled for release in winter 2011. (JMA/WNWC/IG)
