Dave Grohl's Sound City Players And Stevie Nicks Play For Letterman

Forget Stevie Nicks reuniting with Fleetwood Mac on a brand new tour (Well, and maybe even producing an album of new material). The rock legend with the sultry voice recently teamed up with the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and his formerly mysterious new side project, The Sound City Players. Nicks and Grohl recently appeared on CBS' Late Show With David Letterman to perform a song the two co-wrote together, and luckily, they had some help from the Sound City Players.
The track is called “You Can’t Fix This” and features some incredible music supplemented by Nicks' famous voice. Despite lots of creepy warnings about the devil in the lyrics, the song feels somewhat like a fun jam session and features more than ten people playing together. You can tell how down Letterman is with the track in the video when he bothers to get up from his desk and hop on over to chat with the group onstage, calling the Sound City Players' performance “music like it’s supposed to be.”
Getting praise from Letterman is pretty cool, but it doesn’t really tell us much about Sound City, Grohl’s movie about the famous recording studio of the same name. The movie’s soundtrack hits shelves on March 12 and is called Sound City: Reel to Reel. If there are even a couple of songs of similar ilk to “You Can’t Fix This” on the album, it should be worth picking up.
