When you're in a room full of Hollywood A-listers, do you play it cool, or do you try to liven up your Twitter feed by cramming as many of them into an amazing selfie? If you're Ellen DeGeneres, it's the latter. The talk show host entertained at the Oscars, providing laughs (and pizza), and at one point, decided to grab some of the biggest names within arm's reach to join her in what proved to be a pretty amazing selfie photo. Unsurprisingly, this star-studded image blew up on Twitter and has surpassed 2.6 million retweets...

With Jennifer Lawrence, Kevin Spacey, Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jared Leto, Channing Tatum, Julia Roberts and Lupita Nyong'o in the shot, it seemed a given that this image would blow up on Twitter, but did anyone expect the picture to eventually surpass 2.6 million retweets and 1.3 million favorites and possibly crash Twitter?

For reference, especially for those who aren't all that familiar with Twitter, that's an enormous amount of likes and shares in less than 24 hours. Ellen has 26.9 million Twitter followers, so you might thin those are average numbers for a celebrity like her, but not exactly. Last night, Ellen shared the Liza Minnelli selfie and that garnered over 47,000 retweets, which is a lot.

And this shot of Jared Leto backstage was retweeted nearly 57,000 times...

Those are a lot of retweets but still far shy of 2.6 million! So that should give you some relative idea of just how popular the mega-star selfie was last night. Here's a look at that photo coming together from Kristy's GIF Review of the 2014 Academy Awards...
