Eminem is set to return to his hometown of Detroit, Michigan to host a rap contest in the style of the famous hip-hop battle in his semi-autobiographical movie 8 Mile. The Stan hitmaker has signed up to host a freestyle rap contest called the Red Bull EmSee: The Road to 8 Mile National Finals, which will see eight aspiring stars compete against each other in scenes similar to the hit 2002 film.

The finalists, who have been picked from regional heats across the U.S., will perform in front of the superstar, who will then decide on the winner. The event wil be held at Detroit's St. Andrews Hall on 26 August (10), according to Allhiphop.com. (LR/WNWCAH/ZN)
