Nominations for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards were announced this evening, and not surprisingly, critic’s darling Frank Ocean cleaned up. The twenty-five-year-old R&B sensation who broke out in a big way this year tied for the lead with six nominations including Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Best New Artist. In addition to Ocean, Fun., Jay-Z, Mumford & Sons and Kanye West also scored six nominations a piece, narrowly edging The Black Keys, Chick Corea and Miguel who all grabbed five.
As usual, this year’s pack of Grammy nominees are an uneasy partnership between the extremely popular megastars of now, the classic artists of yesteryear and a few extremely progressive innovators.
