Will Grammy Performers Actually Follow CBS' Dress Code?
By Mack Rawden 2 years ago
Earlier this week, CBS sent around a memo to all performers and guests at the Grammys asking they please cover up their boobs, butts, vaginas and penises in order to help make sure the network doesn’t incur any fines related to its upcoming broadcast. In addition, executives asked all involved refrain from wearing any clothes with logos. On the surface, the demands sound obvious and unnecessary, but given the history of the Grammys, those codes have been violated numerous times.
From Jennifer Lopez’s green dress with the plunging neckline down to her belly button to Pink’s skin tight, partially see-through body suit, the award show has featured more than its share of shocking outfits, and given the nature of musicians, we might still be in for some doubletakes this weekend. Artists don’t typically enjoy being told what they can and cannot do, and while this request definitely isn’t unreasonable, it might prove to be the request itself that convinces someone to push the envelope with an overly sexy number.
I highly doubt CBS will bar anyone from television if they violate the rules, but I am interested to see whether or not anyone takes a shot. What do you think? Will Grammy performers actually follow the dress code, or will some of them throw up the middle finger and put on something racy? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
