Hansons To Sell MMMHOP Beer In 2012
By Jessica Grabert 3 years ago
If anyone ever wanted to play a guessing game about my age, they would just need to ask me what the first CD I ever owned was. Ding! The answer is Hanson’s Middle Of Nowhere, a fact I would likely be embarrassed about had I not seen the band over a decade later and realized they really own. Sometimes sticking to one art medium is not enough for a band who has been around the music block since childhood. Sometimes bands need to branch out, try new things, and that is exactly what Hanson plans to do in the future.
Before you assume Hanson is prepping to sell you invisible wall art, I’ll go ahead and tell you they have become beer makers. The beer, which Zac Hanson calls “MMMHop IPA” is currently being prepped for an early 2012 distribution. Though there is no exact date for release at this juncture, according to Rolling Stone, the beer will be an India Pale Ale. Youngest bandmate Zac Hanson doesn’t want fans to assume the beer venture is all about profit, however.
“"We have a board game and even a record player to play our last record on, but we will never make dolls, lunch boxes or toothbrushes that play our songs, for example. It's vital our fans have trust in everything Hanson do(es).”
Is this board game widely available? Can you tell me? You say you can, but you don’t know. Seriously though, I will say carrying around a six-pack of “MMMHop” sounds a heck of a lot better than drinking out of a bottle of Bitch wine. Pop Blend will keep you posted on whether the Hansons' beer comes to fruition in the new year.
