Hilary Duff Working Hard As A New Mommy

Hilary Duff has been out of the spotlight for awhile, adjusting to a new life spent with hubby Mike Comrie since their marriage in 2010. After finding out they were pregnant, the happy couple spent months preparing for the baby, before welcoming son Luca Cruz last Tuesday. Duff herself went to Twitter to discuss the event, stating her baby was beautiful and weighed “a healthy 7 pound 6 ounce(s).” In later posts, the happy new Momma’s posts became a little more exhausted, but she has remained upbeat and cheery about her demanding schedule.

”Luca fed! Mamma fed! Time to do it all again in 2 hours! Oh how life has changed! Lol In such a wonderful way :)”

Being an enthusiastic and engaging mother is half the battle, and Duff seems to be willing to go the extra mile to make certain Luca gets everything he needs. The zealous mother recently spoke with O.K.! Magazine about pulling out all of her old baby books to read to Luca as he grows.

“I have boxes of some of my old books from when I was a kid. There’s a book that I love so much called If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. It’s a really cute book. I grew up reading it. My mom read it to us, and it’s one that I really loved and kept going back to over and over again. And all the Shel Silverstein books I really loved, like Where the Sidewalk Ends and The Giving Tree.”

Man, is she going to be excited when she finds out Laura Numeroff’s If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is actually part of a series. If you are worried about the new mom overworking herself, however, have no fear. Hockey players are generally a good breed, and Comrie is no exception.

“My husband totally spoils me. He’s very thoughtful. He’s really, really excited about the baby. He’s a really good guy. I feel very lucky.”

Pop Blend would like to wish the couple much happiness and luck in the first few months spent with baby Luca.
