The internet has been ablaze the last few days with beauty salon whispers about a pending Marc Anthony Jennifer Lopez break-up, but many have been skeptical about why the couple would wait months to announce a marriage implosion on what some women consider the happiest day of the year. I wasn’t phased. Then again, I once had a friend who publicly announced he would break up with his girlfriend in six months and proceeded to act like nothing was wrong until breaking up with her exactly six months later. Like Billy Joel, I run with a dangerous crowd. Marc Anthony wouldn’t fit in.

According to Extra!, the couple’s rep has unequivocally denied the future split. I’m not surprised. Marc Anthony doesn’t have it in him to be a spiteful douche bag (unlike my friend), but trouble is definitely a brewin’. The pair have both been spotted recently sans wedding rings on separate occasions, and unless you’re Bill Henrickson from Big Love, taking off your wedding ring normally means you’re getting ready to sever the ball and chain.

Honestly, though, did anyone see Jennifer Lopez choosing Marc Anthony to spend the rest of her life with? Seriously, that man looks like he grew up on a steady diet of swirlies.
