Just days after reality television mom Kate Gosselin openly worried about whether she could support her children following her show's cancellation, ex-husband Jon has publically emerged with some choice words for his ex-wife. If anything, his comments are highly reminiscent of a simpler time, of the first season of Jon And Kate + 8, in which the witty, sensible and somewhat emotionally detached father smiled and occasionally rolled his eyes at the flustered shenanigans of his wife and the brood of children he co-authored.

Speaking to RumorFix, Jon didn't seem the least bit phased by the recent brouhaha, offering clarity to the situation by logically bringing up the fact that plenty of American families support their children without television money. “Things will work out the way they should work out. Obviously, there are families out there that have several kids. People work normal jobs, and things work out." As for Kate's mortgage, Jon couldn't help getting in a parting shot, telling the interviewer, “"I don't have a farm on 24 acres and the kids seem to have a great time at my house." Zing.

Apart from the relatively short period in which Jon went a bit off the deep end with some questionable girlfriends, the thirty-four year old has kept a smile on his face and a hard working attitude. He's reportedly holding down a job as a computer support engineer and paying his child support bills.

A lot of married couples break up because they were never right for each other in the first place. The same can't be said for the Gosselin's. There was just something about the personalities of those two that really clicked. Had cameras never entered the equation, there's no doubt in my mind that the family would still be together. Barring unforeseen circumstances though, the pair seemed destined to bicker at each other in the media for the rest of their lives.
