Justin Bieber Is Bing's Most Searched For Celebrity
2011 has been a great year for Pop Blend. We got to cover Kim Kardashian’s marriage and subsequent divorce. We got to cover Lindsay Lohan’s train wreck of community service experiences and subsequent success. We got to follow and then forget Charlie Sheen. We saw T.I. out, in, and out of jail, and we grew accustomed to a whole lot of Justin Bieber. As it turns out, going on Saturday Night Live, having a Christmas album and video, doing really cute things for girlfriend Selena Gomez, and getting accused of some Maury “I am not the father” stuff trumps anything Casey Anthony ever tried for the press.
According to Bing’s end of the year list, Justin Bieber was the most searched name of 2011. The stat is pretty impressive for such a young dude (he posted 6th last year), but also for a dude in general. Rounding out the top 10 was a girl’s club. Kim Kardashian came in second this year, followed by Jennifer Aniston, who posted third. Jennifer Lopez, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry finished out the top 10 most searched names this year. If you are assuming the list was forgetting Casey Anthony don’t worry: her case managed the most searched news story.
If you were wondering who was the biggest loser in 2011, The Los Angeles Times is citing President Obama as the person with the least impressive numbers. In the last year the President fell 44 places on the list of most searched people, dropping from number 5 to number 49. It’s been a crazy year for all celebrities; but, don’t worry Kim Kardashian, you’ve still got a few weeks to overtake the Biebs in 2011. Pop Blend will be waiting.
