Kathy Griffin Preps For Return To Carnegie Hall

Attendees of the New York Comedy Festival are in for a treat this year. Hilarious comic Kathy Griffin is one of the performers at the upcoming event, and she promises to be as biting and relentless as ever when she hits Carnegie Hall on November 12. This is why I love her. For example, in a recent interview with The Village Voice, their journalist said to Kathy, "You're going to Carnegie Hall!" and she finished his sentence by saying, "one blowjob at a time!" If this isn't the kind of thing you find funny, you should probably stop reading this article now. If you are amused by it... welcome, friend!
So what celebrities and trash TV will Griffin be ripping to shreds this time? Possibly Paula Abdul, a frequent target of Kathy's, who she ran into at the Emmys last month. "She ran from me on the red carpet! I was happy to see her upright," says Griffin. "I tried to talk to her and said, 'I'm more excited about your show The X Factor than you are." She looked like she had no idea what I was talking about!" Or perhaps she'll discuss Gwyneth Paltrow, who won at the Creative Arts Emmys (or as Kathy lovingly calls them, 'The Schmemmys') for her guest appearance on Glee and didn't show up to accept it. "She wasn't even there and we had to witness an assistant boxing up her Emmy and carrying it out, half-assed. I wanted to rip her fucking hair out," Griffin snapped.
I've seen Kathy live three times and I have to say she always hits a nerve that I've never felt as much from any other comic out there. When she performs, you don't really feel like you are watching a show. It's more like you just feel you are hanging out with Kathy in her living room gossiping about how cute Anderson Cooper is or ridiculous the Kardashians continue to be, and that's what makes it so fun.
You can order tickets to see her live at Carnegie Hall here. Not a New Yorker? No problem. Check out Kathy's official website for a complete list of tour dates.
