Katy Perry And John Mayer's Relationship Proves Short-Lived
Katy Perry’s marriage to Russell Brand ended less than a year ago, and she doesn’t seem quite ready to settle into a long-term relationship just yet. In the time since her very public break-up, the pop singer has only shown half-hearted attempts at dating new people. Post-Russell, Perry has been seen out with Florence + the Machine’s guitarist, Robert Ackroyd, and later she even hooked up with the more conventional crooner, John Mayer. Despite the singer’s best efforts, that brief fling seems to have fallen apart, as well.
After a little over two months of hanging out, the couple have decided to call it quits. Rumor has it the decision may have been slightly more on Mayer’s end than Perry’s. At the very least, US Magazine is reporting Perry is very upset the two are not together anymore. However, the 27-year-old singer doesn’t seem to be showing it if she is hurting. Her Twitter posts over the past couple days have said more about her recent introduction to cooking than the current state of her relationship, which is probably for the best.
“Starting my first cooking class...OH MY GOD I'M LEARNING TO BE A HUMAN!”
Still, it certainly looks as if the two may be completely done with one another. Last night, Perry and Mayer went out separately, according to E!. She went to a gig to support her musician friend, Ferras, but he went out to keep an eye on the women in a bar.
It’s probably for the best, anyway. Mayer’s reputation as a womanizer has entranced the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz, but the man doesn’t usually manage to stick around over the long haul. Hopefully, the next guy Perry decides to date will have legitimate long-term appeal.
