Kerry Washington Is Having A Baby With Her New Husband

Scandal actress Kerry Washington isn’t a big fan of divulging details of her personal life. Whenever possible, she would like her work to speak for itself, but now and again, there’s just no way around being a little bit open, specifically when there’s a change in body shape involved.

With the actress heading to Saturday Night Live this weekend, which typically involves plenty of tight costumes, she reportedly gave the go-ahead to some of her closest associates to spill the beans on her pregnancy. According to US Weekly, the burgeoning star is about four months along, which means she will almost certainly be showing very noticeably by the time her hit show Scandal finishes shooting.

As for what exactly the writers will decide to do, the truth is no one is speaking publically yet. They could shoot around her stomach and place bulky things in front of her, as the crew on The Mentalist recently did when actress Amanda Righetti got pregnant. If not, they could simply embrace the pregnancy, as Friends famously did with Lisa Kudrow back in the late 90s. Or they could, of course, simply shut down production early on the season and give everyone a little bit of time off.

It’s highly unlikely anyone on the money-making side of the equation would enjoy producing less episodes this season, but that could well be a better choice than either taking the character of Olivia Pope into a more domestic direction or creating a handful of awkward episodes without any full length shots of the lead.

Regardless, Pop Blend’s sincerest congratulations go out to Washington and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha. They got married back in July and now, are ready to increase their family by one. Hopefully, their little boy or girl will only bring the two closer and remind each of why they fell in love in the first place.
