What痴 second best to suing a celebrity for thousands of dollars? Apparently, suing a company that works closely with celebrities. Former assistant to pop darling Lady Gaga, Jennifer O誰eill says she busted her bum for Gaga and worked 7,168 hours of overtime without getting paid. In order to rectify the situation, O誰eill is suing Mermaid Touring Company, an organization that contracts people to work during tours. Mermaid Touring Company initially hired O誰eill to work for Lady Gaga, where O誰eill contends she became a veritable slave.

Though O誰eill won稚 be able to sue Lady Gaga, it seems the ex-employee holds a lot of grief and consternation for her past job. After working for the pop star for over 13 months, O誰eill believes it is unfair she had to be at available for her at uncool hours, including super early in the morning and when Gaga was getting out of the shower.

If O誰eill痴 claims are true, 7,168 hours is a lot of overtime. If she wasn稚 paid and is contractually obligated to be paid, the touring company will be out a pretty penny. According to TMZ, O誰eill is suing for $380,000 which seems a wee bit higher than one would expect an assistant hired through a touring company to earn. Lady Gaga will not be a defendant in the lawsuit.

I知 sure being Lady Gaga痴 assistant was difficult and often stressful. I知 also certain it could easily have been a blow to someone痴 self-esteem. However, if you are being contracted to do a job, you do the job. If you feel like you are being unfairly treated, than you should quit. Even in job situations where you feel like a slave, I can promise you, you are not. I知 sure there are thousands of people in the world who would love to be at Lady Gaga痴 beck and call. This lawsuit seems a little frivolous and will likely go nowhere, although I do hope O誰eill gets over the incensed hate that seems to be ruling her decision-making at this time. The world doesn't owe us anything. Sometimes you got to work for less to get to the place you want to be.
