A Hong Kong mansion previously owned by martial arts legend Bruce Lee is to be turned into a museum dedicated to the star's memory - if locals don't object to the proposal.

Lee's former two-storey home in the suburb of Kowloon is now owned by billionaire philanthropist Yu Panglin. He previously put the property up for sale, but took it off the market after realising the potential of preserving the home.

And he insists he will only go ahead with plans to pay tribute to Lee as long as the venture is welcomed by the local community.

Yu says, "I will consider the views of the community and different parties. I may consider donating the property if the majority thinks we should preserve it."

Yu claims he has already turned down an offer of $13 million (#6.5 million) for the house. Enter the Dragon star Lee died in 1973, aged 32. (MT/WN/KL)
