The Host Gets An Exciting New TV Spot And A Pandora Mixtape

Open Road Films hasn't been shy about promoting their upcoming film The Host, and that's just fine for those of us who are eager to see what Andrew Niccol has done with the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's non-vampire novel. A new TV spot has made its way online and gives us a couple new glimpses of the film.

The Host stars Saoirse Ronan, a young woman named Melanie, who's among the last of the human resistance in a world where alien "souls" have occupied the bodies of most of the human population. When she's captured and inhabited by a Soul named Wanderer, she refuses to abandon her mind and ends up forming a close mental connection with the Soul.

The latest TV spot, which comes courtesy of Movies.com, consists mostly of footage we've seen before, but there are a few new snippets.

The brief spot emphasizes Melanie's relationship with her boyfriend Jared (Max Irons), and then jumps to the action, her occupation, and then more action, including a helicopter chase, some men with guns and a truck crash. The latter two scenes appear to be new additions to the released footage.

In other Host news, via the film's Facebook page, streaming music site/app Pandora has posted a station called The Host Fan Mixtape, which is inspired by the movie. Check that out here.

Check out some of the other trailers and spots, as well as a host of photos for the film in our Blend Film Database. The Host arrives in theaters March 29.
