Yesterday, Lindsay Lohanís parole was revoked by a Los Angeles judge as punishment for only completing twenty-one of her four hundred and eighty hours of community service. She was briefly put behind bars and was released after posting one hundred thousand dollars in bail as collateral for her November court date. The actressí attorney, Shawn Holley, told the judge his client would begin working at the LA County Morgue this morning. Unfortunately, Lohan showed up forty minutes late and was turned away.
She blamed the snafu on not knowing exactly where she was supposed to go, but the Coronerís Office was having none of that excuse since sheís already been there once as part of a previous drunk driving conviction. According to The Los Angeles Times, Lindsay was assigned by the court to work two eight hour shifts a week, but itís unclear whether sheíll be able to now that sheís completely missed her first shift.
Iím all for giving people second chances. Throwing offenders in jail without a chance to work off their debts to society isnít always the best call, but at what point do you say enough is enough? Lohan was in court yesterday getting her ass chewed out by a judge. That should have been plenty of incentive not to cut her arrival so close.
With only a few weeks left to prove to the court she shouldnít be incarcerated, this definitely wasnít the ideal start. Besides, even if returning to jail wasnít a factor, wouldnít you want to get this work out of the way as fast as possible to focus on making movies?
