Lindsay Lohan's Attorney: My Client Doesn't Have Drug Or Alcohol Problems

One of the easiest ways for a defendant to get out of jail time is to volunteer for rehab. A slew of celebrities and ordinary people take the approach every year in order to maintain their freedom, and Lindsay Lohan has actually followed said route in the past. This time, however, she’s apparently determined to stay way from any such treatment.

According to The Los Angeles Times, the Mean Girls actress’ attorney, Mark Heller, told the judge in court today that his client doesn’t have any problems with drugs or alcohol but instead, deals with other “issues”. She’s apparently been in therapy for whatever those mystery problems are, but it’s unclear whether that vagueness will help her case at all. Sources close to the situation are saying prosecutors want Lohan to spend at least ninety days in a locked rehabilitation facility as part of any plea agreement. So, if they hold fast on that line, this case will go to trial.

It’s very likely Lindsay’s former attorney Shawn Holley, who is widely regarded as brilliant, would have examined the tea leaves and forcefully told her client the best route to take, but from the outside, it seems like Heller is unwilling to talk pointedly to his own client, which could end up biting her in the ass.

We’ll keep you updated as Lohan’s lying to police case moves closer to the trial date. Until then, try to be honest if you get into an accident. The consequences will likely be far better than having to clean up a mess like this.
