Listen To Zach Galifianakis Sing A Dirty Song With Fiona Apple
By Joseph Giannone 3 years ago
Zach Galifianakis was virtually an unknown comedian 5 years ago. Sure, he would go on to star in one of the most well known movie franchise’s in current memory, The Hangover, but before his fame as the bearded comic was a staple for odd humor, transcending the boundaries of weird and funny, he was a staple in the "strange". In 2006, Galifianakis recorded a song with pop singer Fiona Apple, which channels that same weird humor he put forth in his comedy acts. The song is called “Come Over and Get It (Up in 'Dem Guts)”, and it is definitely NSFW. Check it out:
The track wasn’t released until 2008, and even then people were still not keen to the comedian so it fell deep under the radar. The unlikely duo meet after she saw him in Anita Baker's music video for "You Bring Me Joy." After, Apple invited Galifianakis to record a similar video all shot within the comedians house, and then they recorded “Come Over and Get It.” During that time, the Hangover star was featured in Fiona Apple's "Not About Love" music video in 2005 as well.
This is great news, because the song is hilarious. It might be to grotesque for the average listener, but it’s still a worthwhile effort. This Galifianakis/ Apple collaboration definitely brought the dirty front and center, and now that more people know about this irreverent comedian, hopefully more will know about this song. Do I foresee another collaboration?
